A bronchial cough is due to inflammation of the mucous membranes lining the bronchial tubes, often caused by an infection, exposure to cold weather or may also be caused by breathing in environmental substances that irritate the bronchial tubes. When the bronchial tubes are irritated they secrete thick mucus which is also known as phlegm. As a result, coughing occurs as a natural reflex action, helping clear mucus congestion from the bronchial mucosa. Bronchial Cough Relief extract is a western herbal medicine that combines several traditionally-used herbs.
Marshmallow, plantain and iceland moss contain mucilage that form a protective coating in the upper respiratory tract, shielding the mucosal surface from irritants. Essential oil-containing thyme has been included for its antispasmodic and expectorant actions. Pleasant-tasting liquorice and fennel are also proven expectorants which help soothe airways, relieve bronchial congestion (catarrh) and promote the discharge of phlegm and other irritants from the bronchial passages.

Herbs in this product help to relieve bronchitis and bronchial cough, not only by soothing bronchial airways, but also by relieving mucus congestion. This product may also assist in reducing mucous membrane irritation and suppressing the coughing reflex.

Dosage

Best taken in 25 mL of water or juice, three times daily, before or after meals.
Adults and children over 12: take 12 mL.
Children from 6 to 12: take 6 mL.
Children from 2 to 6: take 3 mL.
